Due to the Corona Virus global pandemic Dance Open America 2021 SEASON will be exclusively and entirely ONLINE.
Please NOTE: LIVE streamed Galas and Masterclasses timetable will be updated near the time (TBC)
March 2021 Schedule: 18, 19, 20, 21.
Please note that we will add Masterclasses that will be especially timed to suit our Asia & Oceania’s community time zone.
Registrations and Video submissions: Deadline 1 March
Competition Live- Stream: 18, 19, 20 March
Final Gala and Award Ceremony: 21 March
Prizes will be awarded based on video performance
Participants Guideline
Entries via video submissions only.
If you have not access to a studio or stage participants may submit a contemporary solo or duo only, filmed at any space that could be “danceable” with the proper dance floor. We do not recommend participants to perform on tile floors, carpet, or other surfaces not suitable for dancing.
DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF REQUESTS, DOA HAS DECIDED TO INCREASE THE TIME FRAME FOR FILMED VIDEO PERFORMANCES.
WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING VIDEOS UP TO ONE YEAR OLD – AND FILMED NOT EARLIER THAT MARCH 2020.

Please send your videos VIA WeTransfer TO:
videos@danceopenamerica.org with your Name/Date of birth & variation/duo/ensemble’s name.
Only performance-quality recordings will be accepted. Bad quality videos and with unclear backlighting background will not be accepted.
Video quality and formatting: From 720p/1080p to 4k
Size: Up to 1GB
Format: The following formats are supported:
(.mov, .mp4, .m4v, .m2v, .avi, .mpg, .flv, .mwv, .webm, .ogv, .mxf, .asf, .vob, .mts)
DRESS CODE:
We encourage participants to wear the appropriate costume for the represented piece, however, if not possible please wear a colour that will clearly contrast with your background. For ladies, pink tights, and a leotard, for men black or grey tights with a white T-shirt for men will be permitted (we will not accept any videos of a participant wearing warm-up clothing or leggings).
RIGHTS:
All participants are required to submit an application form and individual details. By taking part in this competition, you (the competitor) waive all performance rights in case of television broadcasting and/or any recording during the competition including the performance and award ceremony. DOA reserves the right to use any photo or video recording of participants’ performances during the contest for further promotional purposes.
MUSIC:
D.O.A DO NOT pay royalties. Competitors must ensure that they have the right to perform both classical and contemporary works (only if needed) .

Registration Fee: $75 This price includes:
– Master Classes ( ALL Master Class/Auditions of your choice are added to your entry fee.
-Conversation with the Stars (ALL), (have the opportunity to meet your favourite dancer and to have a chat with him/her).

-Divisions ENTRY FEES-
Solos: $50 each.
Duos: $70 per PDD or duo.
Ensembles: $25 per participant.
